AGRICULTURAL COURSE

Description of the course:  The course aims to inform and train our Participants about the Italian agricultural system. The main part will teach them the agricultural particularity of italian Regions, especially in the sectors as production of oil and production of wine. To pursue the professional skills of this course, the educational offer is articulated in some fundamental theoretical skills, like agronomy, agro-technicians, etc…). This kind of course includes seminars, field works, thinking tools, cultural visits, technical visits, conferences with experts. The Participants will receive also the didactic material needed and the certificates as requested in the Erasmus Plus Programme.

Objectives:

  • To encourage young people to agricultural system techniques
  • To stimulate agricultural entrepreneurship.
  • To increase the trainings in this area.
  • To spread the typical Italian agricultural products.

Methodology:  In the framework of Erasmus Plus Programme, we are going to develop our courses based in both formal and informal education methodologies. We’ll try to develop the active participation of all participants involved. In order to stimulate the active participation of them we will use dynamic activities, like:

  • Conferences with responsibles of enterprises;
  • Discussions in the classroom with directors of private institutes;
  • Direct lessons;
  • Technical visits in private companies for job shadowing and workshops.

 

1st Day:  Transfer from the airport to accommodation and room allocation. Daily evaluation. Rules applicable in Italy, information about the city and general information about the programme. Presentation of the Italian Agricultural system, Meeting with the director of Coldiretti and visiting the company.

2nd Day: Lesson: Course about agricultural methods in Italy, explaining the different system used for each specific region.  The agricultural methods used for each region and the principal products for each one.

 3rd Day: Lesson and Visiting the best establishment of agricultural practices, taking information about technology, production programs, hygiene issues in total quality. Visiting companies of wine and meeting the director and some agronomists.  Daily evaluation.

4th Day: Lesson: Information about food standards to be applied in our country in order to understand the interrelationship between individual lifestyle and environmental effects at a global level.

5th Day: Lesson/Stage in a company (4 hours). Visiting a cheese company and how they use the manure for energy production and renewable energy through hands.

6th Day: Lesson Oil and wine day, Talking with the director of an olive oil company about the techniques used for collecting olives and production of extra virgin oil. Wine system in Italy talking about the techniques used and the production.

7st Day: Lesson: Financial Sustainability in the Italian agricultural system; Meeting and discussion with the Italian agricultural entrepreneurs.

8th Day: Evaluation of the training course. Certificate Ceremony and overall evaluation meeting with the host organization and the beneficiaries. Preparation of final report of daily evaluations.
