Description of the course:
This training course is focused on Graphic Design and Photography, this course creates a balance between design and technology. The program begins with a foundation in design, drawing and art appreciation and starts to integrated technology during the first week. Design principles, creative thinking and problem-solving techniques, as they apply to the media arts, give the participant a strong foundation for entry into the work force.

Objectives:

The course AIMS to provide teachers with:

  • techniques and ideas for teaching Graphic Design;
  • ideas for using drama and other creative activities to teach English or other subjects
  • an insight into the role of drama in primary education in Italy;
  • an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop links with teachers from other European countries;

Methodology:   In the framework of Erasmus Programme Plus, we are going to develop our courses based in Both formal and informal education methodologies. We’ll start with an introduction of the new methodology And Also with a theoretical approach. In order to stimulate the active participation of them we will use dynamic activities, like: study cases, conferences with responsible staff of enterprises; discussions in the classroom with directors of private institutes; role-plays; guidelines, technical visits to the laboratories and schools.

1st Day: Transfer from the airport to accommodation and allocation room. Welcome Meetings. Rules applicable in Italy, information about the city and general information about the Programme. Lesson Managing participant’s expectations about the “Drama in the primary classroom” course, walking tour of historic City;

2nd Day:  lesson: Introduction to Italian Graphic Design and Photography. History of photography and graphic design in Italy and in the world;

3rd Day: lesson: Apply design principles to Both print and screen layouts. Opportunity for discussion with an expert. Define terminology for the professional graphic design and print industry;

4th Day: lesson: Demonstrate a sense of aesthetics for design and typography in the visual communication field. How to develop professional quality design concepts and layouts. Meeting with a graphic designer. Brainstorming;

5th Day: Guided Lesson tours in workshops of graphic design. Demonstrate effective evaluation techniques, such as critiquing, to test and revise ideas and designs;

6th Day: 7th Day: Free time for individual research or optional cultural activities;

8th Day:  Photography lesson: Demonstrate fundamentals of 35mm traditional and digital camera operations;

9th Day: Lesson meeting with a professional photographer. Demonstrate digital image editing and special effects manipulation;

10th Day:   lesson:  Workshop: Demonstrate acceptable photographic methods in photography studio;

11th Day: Lesson Demonstrate advanced lighting techniques;

12th Day: Final lesson and Evaluation of the Training Course. Certificate Ceremony and overall evaluation meeting with the host organization and the beneficiaries;

13th Day: Free time for individual research or optional cultural activities Preparing for departure
